School is 'Outstanding' says OFSTED
Pupils at St Peter and St Paul are celebrating after receiving a glowing report from inspectors.
The OFSTED inspection into early years provision at the school says the quality and standard of nursery education is ‘outstanding.’
The report follows a visit made by an OFSTED Inspector. “The quality of teaching and learning is outstanding” says the report “It is consistently exciting and challenging for all children.”
The report goes on to say “Children are highly motivated and are making significant progress through the stepping stones in all areas of learning. They have an excellent attitude to learning.”
The report, which looked at the work of the school’s reception class, praises the children’s early word recognition and says “children are developing a thorough understanding of words and their meaning.” It goes on to praise the teaching of maths “Children have excellent mathematical knowledge.” The report also says leadership and management of the school is outstanding.
St Peter & St Paul’s Headmaster Andrew Lamb says everyone at the school is delighted with the findings “This OFSTED inspection report gives our reception class staff the highest possible rating of outstanding and it really is a tribute to their hard work and dedication. We are all absolutely delighted to have our work recognized in this way and it’s also a tribute to the children who, at the beginning of their school career, are doing so well in what is a very happy and relaxed learning environment.”
