Canoeing now during Life Skills
Yesterday saw the first canoeing sessions ever undertaken as part of our unique Life Skills programme. It has long been our intention to expand our Life Skills programme and two groups consisting of pupils in Years 4 and 6 successfully took to the waters of the Chesterfield Canal at Tapton Lock. During the year it is hoped that all groups within the programme will have an opportunity to hone their canoeing skills on the canal. The school's annual Activity Week at High Ash Farm for Years 5 & 6 includes canoeing on Rudyard Lake and the Caldon Canal, so the Life Skills sessions will help children to be more proficient in a canoe.
