School Finance Assistant - closing date Monday 26th August 

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Administrative team at St Peter & St Paul School.  You will be working in a forward thinking and innovative environment. The successful candidate will be highly efficient, and customer focused, with a high attention to detail and a good working knowledge of systems and processes used within a finance office.  An understanding of SAGE would be an advantage.

Responsible to:

·         School Office Manager

·         Headteacher

·         Trustees

 

Hours: 2 days per week, 40 weeks per year (term time plus 5 weeks)

 

Salary: £10-£15 per hour subject to experience

 

Overview: The Finance Assistant is responsible for providing an efficient and accurate finance and accounting service to the school.

 

Main Duties: Enter transactions into the school’s financial accounting system (SAGE), including the processing of:

·         Sales Invoice

·         Supplier Invoices

·         Bank Payments

·         Bank Receipts

·         Bank Transfer

·         Credit card management

·         Petty cash management

·         Bank Reconciliation

·         Payroll Journal and Processing (using outsourced payroll provider)

·         Housekeeping of Suppliers

·         Housekeeping of Customers

·         Preparing Customer Statements

·         EYFS Funding

·         Milk claim

·         Credit control

·         Payment runs
